2,308 companies with foreign capital, established in first 4 months of 2024

  As many as 2,308 companies with foreign capital have been established during the first four months of 2024, going up by 0.9% when comparing to the similar period of 2023, according to the centralized data from the National Trade Registry Office (ONRC).The 2,308 new companies had a total subscribed capital of more than USD 12.4 million, an increase of 46.4% compared to the subscribed capital of companies registered in January - April 2023, of USD 8.47 million.In April 2024, 633 companies with foreign participation were registered (+32.7% compared to the same month in 2023), with a subscribed capital of 2.17 million RON (+37.8%). Depending on the fields of activity, the most registrations were registered in wholesale and retail trade, car and motorcycle repair (35.23% of the total), professional, administrative, scientific and technical activities (17.06% of the total) and transport, storage and communications (15.32%).At the end of April 2024, there were 253,534 companies with foreign participation in the share capital in Romania. The value of the subscribed capital was over USD 70.58 billion.The largest number of companies with foreign participation was with investors from Italy, respectively 53,077 (subscribed capital of approximately USD 3.37 billion), but the highest value of the share capital belongs to Dutch companies, respectively USD 13.063 billion, in 6,146 of companies.
