3.06% jobless rate in ANOFM evidence in February

The jobless rate recorded at national level was at the end of February 3.06%, 0.06% higher than in the same month of 2023, According to the National Agency for Labor Force occupation.   The total number of unemployed at the end of February 2024 was 246,701 people, of whom 56,704 were paid jobless people and 189,997 were unpaid. The number of paid jobles was 940, and the number of jobless not paif grew by 7,8926 persons against the previus month. At the end of February there were 70,270 unemployed from the urban area and 176,431 from the rural area.   There were 116,346 unemployed women and 130,355 men. Most jobless people were between 40 and 49 years old (62,760), followed by 55 year-olds (53,778) at the opposite pole being people between 25 and 29 years old (14,980).   The structure of unemployment according to the instruction level, people without studies and those with primary instruction had an important share among unemployed people (29.71%). Unemployed people with high school education represented 34% of jobless people recorded, while 4.77% had higher education.
