Payment of food and accommodation for Ukrainian refugees extended

The government extended by three months, until June 30,2024, the payment of food and accommodation for beneficiaries of temporary protection coming from the conflict area in Ukraine.   According to an Executive press release made on Thursday, paragraphs 10 and 11 of article 1 in Emergency Order 15/2022 that stipulates granting support and humanitarian assistance by the Romanian state to foreign citizens or people in special situations, coming from the armed conflict area in Ukraine are modified.   “Expenses for granting money for food and accommodation will be initially paid from the Budget reserve fund, according to order 15/2022. Later on, the budget will be aupplemented with 17,163,270 euros coming from the European Union, as part of projects presented by the Department for Emergency Situations. EU contribution is granted on condition the period of granting aid after March 31, 2024 is modified and following the approval by EC of the reviewed variant of the 2021-2027 National Program Assylum, Migration and Integration,” the press release mentions.
