Call for the release of Gaza hostages, signed by leaders of 18 countries, Romania included

  The leaders of Romania, Argentina, Austria, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, Colombia, Denmark, France, Germany, Hungary, Poland, Portugal, Serbia, Spain, Thailand, the United Kingdom and the United States signed on Thursday a joint declaration calling for the release of the hostages in Gaza, the Presidential Administration said."We demand the immediate release of all hostages held by Hamas in Gaza for more than 200 days. Among them are our own citizens. The fate of the hostages and civilian population in Gaza, who are protected by international law, is an international concern," reads the statement signed by the leaders of the 18 countries, including president Klaus Iohannis.They underline that "the proposed agreement for the release of the hostages would bring about an immediate and prolonged ceasefire in Gaza, which would facilitate an increase in the necessary additional humanitarian assistance to be delivered throughout Gaza and would lead to a credible end to hostilities.""Gaza inhabitants will be able to return to their homes and lands with up front preparations to provide them with shelter and humanitarian supplies," the call said."We strongly support current mediation efforts to bring our citizens home. We reiterate our call on Hamas to release the hostages and end this crisis so that we can all focus on our joint efforts to bring peace and stability to the region."
