Finnish soldiers on F-18s to carry out NATO command missions in Romania

  A almost 80 military Finnish detachment, pilots and technical-engineering personnel, and seven F-18 Hornet aircraft, have arrived in Romania, where they will perform, for two months, Enhanced Air Policing missions under NATO command, a press release sent on Tuesday by the Ministry of National Defense, reads.The Finnish military will collaborate with the Romanian Air Force and the British Royal Air Force.The seven F/A-18 Hornet aircraft of the Finnish Air Force landed on Monday at the southeastern 57th Mihail Kogalniceanu Air Base.The Air Police missions have the role of defending and ensuring the integrity of Romania's airspace and contribute to the development of the reaction and deterrence capacity, as well as to the consolidation of interoperability between all the allied forces participating in the mission, the MApN says.
