AHK Romania: Romania has become innovation and technology hub, opportunities for investment

Romania has become an innovation and technology hub, so there are still excellent opportunities for investment, said AHK Romania president Andreas Lier at the opening of the organisation's General Assembly of Members.According to a press release , the annual General Assembly of Members reconfirmed by vote, on Tuesday evening, two of the members of the Board of Directors, namely Petru Ruset (Siemens Energy Romania) and Volker Raffel (E.ON Romania), who will have a three-year mandate."The prospects for Romanian-German economic relations are still good and new opportunities are always emerging - Romania has become a hub of innovation and technology and there are still excellent opportunities for investment,"said the president of AHK Romania.He underlined that Romania is currently playing an important role for Germany and Europe in terms of ecological transformation, to which the Romanian-German business community has contributed.In 2023, trade between the two countries reached a new record, reaching 43 billion euros in bilateral trade, and the investment dynamic will continue."We are a strong, diverse, trust-based community, strongly anchored in technology, with over 620 member companies, a network connected not only in business, but one that maintains close relationships with policy makers, public administration and NGOs," said Sebastian Metz, CEO of AHK Romania.He mentioned that in the last 12 months AHK Romania has continued to support, through its services, member companies, developed new business opportunities for members and partners, as well as an excellent networking network. High level political meetings, regional events, business delegations to Romania, Germany, Republic of Moldova etc. were also held.AHK Romania is the official representative of the German economy and the largest business organization in Romania. Founded in 2002, AHK counts more than 630 member companies and offers companies an important platform for networking, exchange of information and experiences. Through the services it offers and the events it organizes, AHK Romania actively supports German companies as they enter the Romanian market and is also a partner of Romanian companies interested in the German market. As of January 1, 2020, AHK Romania will also operate the Competence Centre for the Republic of Moldova, which aims to intensify business relations between companies from Romania, the Republic of Moldova and Germany and to contribute significantly to the economic development of the Republic of Moldova.
