OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, between June 29 and July 3, in Bucharest

 The 31st annual session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE AP) will take place from June 29 to July 3, in Bucharest, according to a statement sent on Thursday.At the session of the OSCE PA in Bucharest, with the general theme "Parliamentary perspective on the role of the OSCE in the current security architecture", parliamentarians from over 50 states participating in the OSCE who are registered are going to meet and debate, both in plenary sessions and in meetings of specialized commissions, current topics such as the war of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, the situation in the Middle East, the European path of the Republic of Moldova, the situation of human rights and economic developments in the OSCE region.At the same time, the participants will adopt the Bucharest Declaration, a document that will include the resolutions of the general committees and the additional resolutions initiated by members of the OSCE PA, including the resolution on the deterioration of the human rights situation in the Transnistrian region of the Republic of Moldova, co-sponsored by the parliamentarians delegations from the Republic of Moldova and Romania."As firm supporters of democracy, peace and stability, we are happy to host at the Romanian Parliament, after 24 years, together with the Romanian delegation at the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, the annual session of this prestigious Assembly. Within the OSCE PA session, we continue our efforts of support for the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine, in the context of Russia's aggression. I am a co-sponsor of the additional resolution for the support of Moldova, and among the measures, after adoption, the OSCE PA requests the withdrawal of Russian military troops and ammunition stocks from the territory of the Republic of Moldova, condemns all acts of intimidation or reprisals against groups in the Transnistrian region and requests the removal of restrictions on freedom of movement in the Transnistrian region of Moldova. The adopted resolutions will be published in the Bucharest Declaration," said deputy Dan Barna, deputy president of the Chamber of Deputies and president of the Parliament Delegation. of Romania at the OSCE AP, quoted in the press release.On the occasion of the session in Bucharest, the members of the Assembly will vote for a new leadership of the organization (the president and three vice-presidents) and new leadership at the level of the general committees.Among the candidacies for the position of vice president of the committee is that of deputy Costel Dunava.At the same time, the heads of the national delegations will vote on the proposal to renew the mandate of the Secretary General of the Assembly, the release also states.
