Traffic to alternate on Bulgarian section of Giurgiu - Ruse bridge as repair works are set to commence

Bulgarian road workers will alternatively close one lane for the rehabilitation of the Giurgiu - Ruse bridge and traffic will alternate accordingly, the National Road Infrastructure Management Corporation (CNAIR) announced on Wednesday in clarifications following the statement of the company's general director Cristian Pistol, according to whom the dually managed Giurgiu - Ruse bridge will be completely closed on the Bulgarian side for two months, starting July 9."From the information we have, the Bulgarian authorities have decided to rehabilitate the bridge section under their management. We were informed that, in order to perform the repairs, the Bulgarian road workers will close one lane at a time and traffic will alternate on the other lane," CNAIR wrote on Facebook.In an information note dated 28.06.2024 to Giurgiu County prefect Florentina Stanculescu regarding the start of construction and repair works on the Bulgarian section of the Giurgiu - Ruse Danube bridge, Ruse region prefect Dragomir Draganov says that the repairs are expected to begin between July 9 and 11, when the temporary organization of the traffic will be set into operation.
