Total monthly average wage per person amounted to 3,210 RON in the first quarter of this year, up 7% compared to the previous quarter, while expenses were 2,729 RON, up 14%, according to data from the National Institute of Statistics, published on Wednesday."The total average monthly wage was, in the first quarter of 2024, in nominal terms, 8049 RON per household, representing 3210 RON per person, up by 7.3% per household, respectively by 7.0% per person, compared to the fourth quarter of 2023. Compared to the first quarter of the previous year, the average monthly incomes per household increased by 15.3%, and those per person by 14.8%. The average monthly expenses of the population were, in the first quarter of 2024, of 6,843 RON per household (2,729 RON per person) and represented 85.0% of total income, an increase of 329 RON per household compared to the fourth quarter of 2023. Compared to the first quarter of the year previous year, the total average monthly expenses per household increased by 14.6%, and those per person by 14.0%," INS mentions.The average monthly financial income was 7,473 RON per household (2,981 RON per person), up 7.4% compared to the fourth quarter of 2023, and the income in kind was 576 RON per household (230 RON per person) person), up by 5.2% compared to the fourth quarter of 2023.By place of residence, the level of total average monthly income per household in the urban environment in the first quarter of 2024 was 8993 RON, 1.3 times higher than in the rural environment, and per person 3830 RON, 1.5 times higher than in rural areas.The average monthly household expenses were, in the first three months, 6370 RON per household (2541 RON per person), higher by 4.7% compared to the fourth quarter of 2023.According to the INS, the place of residence highlights differences between the level of total average monthly expenses. Thus, in the urban environment, the average monthly expenses per household were 7,572 RON, 1.3 times higher than in the rural environment. A person from the urban environment spent, on average, 3224 RON per month, 1.5 times more than a person from the rural environment.
