The executive approved, on Thursday, through a draft law, the ratification of the intergovernmental agreement between Romania and the Kingdom of Morocco regarding cooperation in the military and technical field, signed in Rabat on February 27, 2024.According to a press release from the Government, the agreement aims to promote cooperation in the field of defense between Romania and the Kingdom of Morocco, in areas such as the defense industry, technical support, maintenance and modernization of the supplied products, military education and training, logistical support, cyber security, military medicine, legislation and military history.The document is in accordance with the Romanian legislation and with the obligations and commitments assumed by other international documents, the press release points out."The Kingdom of Morocco is a solid partner of the European Union in the southern vicinity of the Mediterranean Sea, being a factor of stability in North Africa, with an important role in the Arab world, in the context in which it actively campaigns for the peaceful resolution of international crises, for the promotion of tolerance, the prevention of violent extremism, fight against illegal migration and terrorism," the press release mentions.
