Vodafone Romania had a 60% share of subscription contracts at the end of the quarter, compared to only 47% a year ago – the latest Vodafone Group reports. In concrete terms, more customers preferred to sign a subscription with the phone operator than to remain prepaid SIM users. Against the backdrop of this development – where customers have found a Vodafone subscription to have significantly greater benefits than a prepaid sim card or deals from rival telecommunication companies – Vodafone revenue is growing. The average monthly revenue per customer (ARPU) for subscription contracts segment rose by 2.5% to €8.8. There is a spectacular percentage increase in ARPU for prepaid deals, where Vodafone recorded an increase of 39.7%. Mobile data consumption on Vodafone’s network totaled 227,644 TB of data in the last reported quarter, up 11 percent year-on-year. In multiple press statements, Vodafone Romania’s management emphasized that the entire company is in a process of transitioning from a telco to a major IT&C player, with Vodafone being an integrated provider of IoT and ICT solutions. In addition, every year, Vodafone Romania invests over €200 million in 5G infrastructure development. Vodafone has the largest 5G network in Europe. Vodafone has been present in Romania since 1997.
