Nearly 1.1 million employees in Bucharest end-May, average net wage 6,428 RON

  The number of employees in the capital reached 1,093,506 people at the end of May 2024, compared to 1,077,209 people in the similar period of 2023, according to data centralised by the National Institute of Statistics (INS).The average gross wage was 10,584 RON at the end of May 2024 (9,399 RON in May 2023), and the net one was 6,428 RON (5,816 RON in May 2023).On the other hand, at the end of May 2024, 10,259 unemployed persons were registered in Bucharest, down by 1,985 persons compared to the same period of the previous year. The unemployment rate stood at 0.8% (1% in May 2023).
