PARIS2024 OLYMPICS Ana Barbosu gets bronze medal in floor after memoir to CAS

The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) decided that the bronze medal in floor, at the Olympic Games in Paris, should go to gymnast Ana Maria Barbosu, following the memos made by the Romanian Gymnastics Federation and the Romanian Olympic and Sports Committee, announced , Saturday, FRG on its Facebook page.Following this decision, Ana Maria Barbosu obtained the bronze medal in the floor, while Sabrina Maneca Voinea finished the competition in 4th place.The memoir submitted by FRG and Sabrina Maneca Voinea was rejected."The Romanian Gymnastics Federation, represented by the law firm specialized in sports law, Gherdan si Asociatii SCA, through the coordinating lawyer Sabin Gherdan and the lawyers Calina Tejan and Raul Stefan Celmare, after a collective effort of five days and four nights, communicates the decisions of the CAS meeting in the case: Barbosu vs. the International Gymnastics Federation: 1. The application filed by Ana Maria Barbosu is partially admitted. 2. The appeal filed by Jordan Chiles was filed beyond the 1-minute deadline provided by art. 8.5 of the FIG Technical Regulation and is determined to be without effect. 3. The original score of 13.666 awarded to athlete Jordan Chiles in the final is reinstated. 4. The International Gymnastics Federation will determine the ranking of the final and award the medals in accordance with the above decision. 5. Other requests are rejected. FRG, Voinea vs. The International Gymnastics Federation: 1. The request registered by FRG and Sabrina Maneca Voinea is rejected', the press release states.On August 5, in the floor final, Ana Barbosu was awarded the bronze medal for a few tens of seconds, but the American Jordan Chiles filed an appeal and her score was increased, from 13.666 to 13.766, so she finished third. Sabrina Maneca-Voinea also filed an appeal for the grade she received (13,700), but it was rejected.The gold medal was won by the Brazilian Rebeca Andrade, scored with 14.166, while the silver went to the American Simone Biles (14.133).Following the CAS decision, Ana Maria Barbosu finishes 3rd, with 13,700, Sabrina Maneca-Voinea takes 4th place, with 13,700, and the American Jordan Chiles will take 5th place, with 13,666.
