Retele Electrice companies continue to invest in medium voltage network infrastructure

September 12, 2024

Bucharest – Retele Electrice companies are organizing a tender through the public platform SEAP for the acquisition of medium voltage three-phase reclosers, with the goal of ensuring a modern electrical network capable of meeting the growing demands of consumers and current challenges. With a maximum value of 19,320,000 lei, this strategic investment aims to both strengthen and modernize the medium voltage network, as well as improve resilience, operational flexibility, and the quality of services provided to customers.   "The acquisition of medium voltage three-phase reclosers is a crucial step in modernizing our network, demonstrating our strong commitment to our customers. This investment not only enhances operational efficiency but also contributes to achieving the company's strategic goals, such as reducing the number and duration of unplanned outages. Furthermore, it allows us to meet the growing demands of consumers and address the challenges posed by climate change and the increasing complexity of the electrical grid. In this way, we can provide our customers with the reliability, resilience, and quality they deserve", stated Mihai Pe?te, General Manager of Retele Electrice companies.   Through this tender, the Retele Electrice companies reaffirm their commitment to consistently invest in cutting-edge technologies that ensure a modern, reliable distribution network capable of supporting long-term economic and social development. The implementation of these technical solutions will not only enhance the customer experience but also provide greater adaptability to future demands of the energy market.   Medium voltage three-phase reclosers are protective devices used in electrical networks to quickly detect and isolate temporary faults, automatically restoring power after a short circuit or interruption to minimize the impact on consumers.   Retele Electrice companies operate networks with a total length of aproximately 134,000 kilometers in three important areas of the country: South Muntenia (including Bucharest), Banat and Dobrogea, covering a third of the local distribution market, and are developing an investment program to improve quality services, safety and performance of networks and local implementation of environmental standards of the PPC group. The electrical networks operated by the three companies Retele Electrice count 289 transformer stations and over 25,000 transformer stations.
