TAROM: Tickets priced from 199 euro return for flights from Bucharest to Belgrade and Budapest

TAROM customers who purchase tickets for flights from Bucharest to Budapest and Belgrade from August 16 to 18 will benefit from a promotional price starting from 199 euro round-trip, the national air carrier announced on Friday.   The travelling period is 1 November – 10 December 2024 ( the date of the last return) in the limit of available seats.   What's more, TAROM offers cover all your travel needs: tickets are round-trip, all taxes are included, and the price includes one 8 kg hand luggage, one hold bag and free check-in," the company's press release reads. The National Company for Romanian Air Transport – TAROM was set up in 1954 and operates its activity under the authority of the ministry of transport, as a member of Alliance SkyTeam of 25 June 2010.   The National transporter of Romania owns a fleet of 18 aircraft and has in its portfolio a number of 70 destinations operated with their own aircraft or operated by code share partners. Starting with 1993, TAROM is a company member of the International Association of Air Transport (IATA).   Tarom has budgeted total income of 2.333 billion lei and total expenses of 2.054 billion lei for this year.   The investment sources were estimated in 2024 at the value of 236.1 million lei, estimated to grow by 2.397.22%, namely with the sum of 226.65 million lei against the preliminary/made in 2023, being estimated from own sources – worth 126,810,680 lei, allocated from the budget (from restructure state aid) – wort 109,294,690 lei.   The number of staff, in accordance with the Business Plan, is forecast at the end of 2024 at 1,313 employees. Tarom has outstanding receivables of RON 11 million to be recovered, programmed down by 30.87% compared to the preliminary/realized receivables as at 31.12.2023. The company also estimates outstanding payments, for 2024, in the amount of 115.02 million lei, down by 66.24%, respectively by 225.65 million lei compared to their preliminary/realized level in 2023, which was 340.67 million lei.   Tarom, established in 1954, has as its main objective for 2024 the measures necessary to maintain the company's sustainability, according to the 2020-2029 Business Plan, a strategy that involves successive, gradual and dynamic stages and measures, the effects of which are short, medium and long term, providing the possibility of recovery.   Among the operational efficiency measures in Tarom's Restructuring Plan submitted to the European Commission, the following were proposed: - Continuation of the fleet renewal process. Thus, in 2024, the contracts for the purchase of four Boeing 737 MAX8 aircraft (one aircraft on finance lease and three aircraft on operating lease) will be finalized; - Termination of TAROM operations on certain routes; - sale/lease of the London Heathrow Airport slot on market terms; - capitalizing Tarom's shareholdings in Globe Ground and RFS; - the development by long-term lease of the vacant land and office building built in 1940.  The budget proposal for 2024 included the following measures: - The effect of the disposal of the four company-owned AIRBUS A318 aircraft through sale; - the sale of the pair of daily slots used by Tarom at London Heathhrow International Airport (LHR).
