The number of dissolved firms has increased by 15.52% in the first six months of 2024 up to 22,459 against 19,442 in the similar period of last year, according to the data centralized by the National Bureau of Commercial Register (ONRC).Most dissolved firms were in Bucharest, namely 4,722 firms (growing number by 14.64% against the first semester of 2023) and in Ilfov (1,234 plus 41.84%) Constan?a (1,203, plus 34,87%), Cluj (1,183, plus 17,83%), Timis (1,012, minus 0,49%) and Iasi (852, plus 35,67%). At the other end, the fewest dissolved firms were in Covasna county, namely 111 (plus 2.78% against the first six months of 2023), Ialomita (115, similar to the same period of last year),Caras-Severin (144, plus 6.67%), Mehedinti (145, plus 25%) and Calarasi (174,minus 4.92%).The industry with the most business dissolutions from January through June 2024 is wholesale and retail trade, repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles, where 6,085 dissolutions were reported nationwide. Compared to the same period last year, dissolutions in this sector rose by 12.66%. According to the cited source, construction, professional, scientific and technical activities, and manufacturing are other sectors where a large number of company dissolutions were recorded, respectively 2,280 (+26.95%), 2,230 (+16.45%) and 1,881 (+11.43%). In June 2024, there were 3,230 business dissolutions, most of them in Bucharest (684) and in Constanta (205), Cluj (166), Ilfov (152) and Timis (145) counties.
