Competition Council analysing OMVPetrom taking over Intertrans Karla SRL, Bridgeconstruct SRL, ATS Energy SA

The Competition Council is analysing the takeover of Intertrans Karla SRL, Bridgeconstruct SRL and ATS Energy SA by OMV Petrom, according to a competition authority release sent on Wednesday.The OMV Petrom Group is active in the energy sector, from the exploration and production of oil and natural gas to the refining and distribution of fuels and, further on, to the generation of electricity, as well as the commercialisation of natural gas and electricity.The companies Intertrans Karla SRL, Bridgeconstruct SRL and ATS Energy SA are active in electricity production from renewable sources."In accordance with the provisions of the Competition Law (no. 21/1996), this transaction must be authorised by the Competition Council, which will assess the operation in order to establish its compatibility with a normal competitive environment and will issue a decision within the time limits provided by law," the press release reads.
