October 1, 2024

The National Road Infrastructure Management Company (CNAIR) sent on Friday to the National Agency for Public Procurement (ANAP), for validation, the documentation for the contract necessary to develop the feasibility study on the basis of which the second bridge will be built that will ensure the link between Giurgiu and Ruse, Bulgaria, announced general manager Cristian Pistol, on his Facebook page. The maximum duration allocated to the development of the feasibility study is 23 months from the moment the contract begins."The designer will have to find the optimal solution for this new cross-border bridge to ensure the connection between both the road and railway infrastructure between the two countries. After it is built, this new Danube bridge (the third between Romania and Bulgaria) will ensure both countries a greater potential for economic development, both at the regional and European level, on the north-south axis," said the head of the CNAIR.The contract is financed by the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF 2)."After the validation of the award documentation, we will publish the notice of participation in the auction, within which we will also set the deadline for the submission of offers," added Pistol.
