AHK: Romania, an important market for German companies in energy field

German companies in the energy field see in Romania multiple investment opportunities in energy transition and an important market in the green energy area, was the conclusion of talks at the conference “Developing infrastructure for production, storing and supplying energy from renewable sources,” organized by the Romanian- German Chamber of Trade and Industry (AHK Romania) on Tuesday.   Representatives of 8 German companies will explore collaboration possibilities and to extend business in Romania, both at the conference and a many bilateral meetings with local partners which AHK Romania facilitates, a press release of the organization mentions.   Bilateral relations between Germanyand Romania are better and more intense than ever, said Christian Plate, the charge d'affaires of Germany in Bucharest. In the field of energy, although renewable investments and production capacities have significantly grown in the past years in Romania, energy transition needs adequate infrastructure for production and storing, especially in distribution networks.   At the conference, the 8 German companies, BayWa r.e. Solar Projects GmbH, Econtech-Theiss GmbH, ELTEC Green Energy GmbH, Envelio GmbH, IBC Solar AG, SAE IT- Systems GmbH & Co, KG, SMIGHT GmbH, SUNSET Energietechnik GmbH, presented solutions to develop infrastructure of renewable energies. They were wide scale solar installations, equipment for energy efficient buildings, electric energy engineering services for buildings, ecological technologies for networks, energy services in the photovoltaic and storage field , control technology for stations controlling photovoltaic and eolian distribution, solutions for intelligent networks, solar mo dule production.   Participants in the event organized by AHK Romania were informed about the legal and financial frame in the field of renewable energies. They expressed pro and con oppinions about the new state aid known as contracts for difference (CFD) launched by the Energy Ministry.   CFDs will establish a fixed price for energy from renewable sources, offering more stability to investors for a future liberalization of the energy market.   The symposium is organized as part of the export program “German Energy Solutions Initiative, financed by the Federal Ministry of Economy and Climate Protection (BMWK). The event is addressed to German companies interested in developing bilateral business in energy efficiency and is meant to promote German systems and products in the Romanian market.   AHK Romania is the official representative of German economy. Set up in 2002, AHK has 650 member companies and offers an important platform for networking, exchange of information and experience. The Competence Center for Moldova has been functioning within AHK Romania since January 1, 2020.
