Romania is the first state that has managed to bring home part of its citizens from Lebanon, Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu said on Thursday."We will continue this action, it is coordinated. I want to thank the minister of Foreign Affairs, the minister of Defense and Romanian state' services very much. We are the first state that has managed to bring its citizens home", said Ciolacu, upon leaving from the Day of German Unity, an event organized by the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Bucharest.The prime minister stated that such actions will continue and that all Romanians from Lebanon who requested to return to the country will be brought to the country. At the same time, Ciolacu called for discretion regarding the activity of those dealing with this situation.The 69 people repatriated from Lebanon on Thursday are Romanian citizens and first degree family members, most of them women, children and medical cases, reports the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.The flight was carried out with the support of the Ministry of National Defense (MApN), with an aircraft belonging to the Romanian Air Force.The initiative was carried out "in the context of the escalation of the conflict in the Middle East region", under the coordination of the Romanian prime minister, following the "complex efforts" of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, with the support of the Ministry of National Defense and other institutional partners.
