Romania and Bulgaria looking to strengthen tourism cooperation through integrated travel products

 Romania and Bulgaria are considering setting up a joint commission tasked with strengthening tourism cooperation through the development of integrated tourist products, with Romanian Minister of Economy, Entrepreneurship and Tourism Stefan-Radu Oprea discussing these plans on Monday during a meeting in Bucharest with Bulgarian Minister of Tourism Evtim Miloshev, a Ministry release informs.The two officials agreed to conclude a Memorandum of Understanding providing for the establishment of a joint commission working under the direct coordination of the two states' tourism ministers towards strengthening Romania - Bulgaria cooperation, with a particular focus on attracting tourists from remote regions, such as Asia and South America."Together, we can promote ourselves better! A first step has already been taken by the creation of joint cultural-tourist routes, but these can be showcased much more effectively, including at international exhibitions and fairs. The new joint commission will be able to contribute to establishing a plan of action for the development and support of these initiatives, as well as of new cooperation projects," said Minister Stefan-Radu Oprea as cited in the release.In his turn, Bulgarian Tourism Minister Evtim Miloshev emphasized the shared history of the two countries and the need for a strategy to capitalize on the common cultural heritage. He also related about his recent meeting in Tokyo with his Japanese counterpart, where he promoted Bulgaria and Romania's integrated tourist offer."The world often sees Romania and Bulgaria as a single destination, and the creation of this joint commission represents a real opportunity to grow together," added the Bulgarian minister.In conclusion, the two ministers expressed their intention to mutually participate in the opening of the winter season in the neighboring country, in a gesture meant to send an important signal for strengthening tourism cooperation.  (Photo:https://economie.gov.ro/)
