Cars : Dacia Presented Its New SUV, Bigster

October 15, 2024

Dacia presented information and images of the largest and most expensive model in the brand’s history, a C-class SUV that is produced in Mioveni. Bigster is 23 cm longer than Duster 3, comes with new engines and a lot of space inside.   Dacia thus announces the second SUV of the range, the Bigster model which is the “big brother” of the Duster. The Bigster had been shown in concept form in 2021 when it was said to reach customers in 2025.   The company did not release details about the prices, but the press wrote that they will start from approximately 25,000 euros and will exceed 30,000 euros for the hybrid variants with maximum equipment.   Dacia claims that no other model in the segment does as well in terms of available headroom (distance to the ceiling). Dacia Bigster is 4.57 m long. For comparison, Duster is 4.34 m long, Logan is 4.39 m long, Sandero is 4.10 m long and Jogger is 4.55 m long.   “Dacia enters the C-SUV segment with a well-developed product strategy. Thus, in the future, Bigster will be joined by two other models”, the company’s press release states.   The French press has been writing for the past two years about a project called C-Neo inside Renault, meaning the launch of a station wagon and a C-class sedan. Dacia describes this C-segment SUV as “robust”, a vehicle that can be used for customers’ daily business trips as well as for family activities or leisure outings.   Depending on the equipment level, Bigster offers three types of central console for the front seats: low, intermediate or, for the first time on a Dacia model, a high console integrating an armrest (with refrigerator compartment), an induction charger and a space generous storage.   The 10.1-inch central touchscreen is available on all trim levels of the Bigster model. The Bigster Essential and Expression versions feature the four-speaker Media Display multimedia system and Apple CarPlay/Android Auto wireless connectivity.
