Several proposals have been presented for the unblocking of the European instrument for peace. We will continue to work to reach an agreement, but also for the strategic review of the European Union's military assistance mission for Ukraine that must meet better the training needs of the Ukrainian armed forces. It was discussed, and Romania supports this, the need to find a solution by the end of October for the military support measures financed from the profits from the management of Russia's immobilized funds," Odobescu said. The foreign minister specified that during the discussions she presented Romania's actions to support Ukraine, including the donation of a Patriot air defense system, which has already arrived in Kyiv."We have also discussed with our colleagues how we can better help Ukraine in the context of Russian attacks intensifying before the cold season, and we are doing this in a coordinated way in terms of support not only for Ukraine, but also for the Republic of Moldova", mentioned Luminita Odobescu. She reiterated the importance of maintaining pressure on Russia."We welcomed the adoption of the European Union's new regime of sanctions regarding Russia's destabilizing actions, and also today the foreign ministers adopted new measures against Iran for the transfer of ballistic missiles to Russia," said the Romanian foreign minister.According to Minister Luminita Odobescu, the discussions within the FAC concerned Russia's war of aggression against Ukraine, the Republic of Moldova in the context of the October 20 presidential elections and the referendum on joining the European Union and the situation in the Middle East. She also had a bilateral meeting with the Foreign Minister of the United Kingdom, David Lammy."On this occasion, we discussed the need to better coordinate our positions regarding the multiple crises we are facing, not only the war in Ukraine, but also the crisis in the Middle East. Romania supported from the beginning the importance of strengthening coordination and cooperation between the European Union and the United Kingdom, especially in the field of foreign policy, security, defense starting from the common values we share, but also from the crises we face, where we need to better coordinate our positions and we support each other", emphasized Odobescu.  (Photo:www.mae.ro)
