Romania's EBRD capital subscription increases by EUR 19.36 million

President Klaus Iohannis on Tuesday promulgated a law that provides for an increase in Romania's capital subscription in the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development by 1,936 shares worth EUR 19,360,000.The paid-up capital of EUR 19,360,000 is paid starting with 2025 by bank transfer in euros in equal annual instalments until April 30, 2029.Romania has been a member of the EBRD since 1991.According to the explanatory memorandum of the law initiated by the government, as of December 31, 2023, the EBRD's share capital was standing at EUR 29.760 billion.
