The Chief of the Defence Staff, General Gheorghi?a Vlad, was on Wednesday 30 October at the Getica National Joint Training Centre in Cincu, where he witnessed the operational sequences of the DACIAN FALL 2024 (DAFA24) exercise. According to the press release of the ministry of national defence, the Training event DAFA24 of Multinational Division Command South-East is attended by almost 1,500 militaries from Belgium, France, Luxembourg, North Macedonia, Poland, Romania and the US between 14 and 31 October, simultaneously on the polygons in Cincu, Smardan, Capu Midia and Bogata. The training aims to increase of interoperability of the structures for the joint conduct of military operations and to practice the integration at division level of NATO forces and assets deployed on Romanian territory. The Chief of Defence said that DAFA24 is a preliminary stage of the DACIAN SPRING 2025 exercise, for which France will deploy brigade-level forces and assets in our country for the first time. "Moreover, for the Romanian Army, the next year promises to be full of large-scale allied training events. Together with our allied colleagues, we will practise action plans and mutual support in order to be able to successfully deal with any type of military threat scenario", said General Gheorghi?a Vlad. DAFA24 trained forces from Multinational Brigade Command Southeast, French Rapid Reaction Brigade Command (7th Armoured Brigade), French Brigade Forward Command Element, NATO Battle Group Romania, 52 Mixed Artillery Regiment and 83 Tactical Operational Missile Battalion. The exercise was also attended by IAR 330 Puma Socat and F-16 Fighting Falcon aircraft of the 71st Air Base and the F-18 Hornet of the Spanish Air Force, deployed in our country for the Enhanced Air Policing service. The exercise is part of a series of training events aimed at strengthening NATO's deterrence and defence posture on the Eastern flank.
