4,392 companies with foreign capital, established in first 9 months of 2024

A number of 4,392 companies with foreign capital were established in Romania in the first nine months of 2024, down by 16.22% compared to the same period in 2023, according to the data centralized by the National Trade Registry Office (ONRC).The 4,392 new companies had a subscribed capital in the total amount of 16,902 million dollars, down 85.44% compared to the subscribed capital of companies registered in the first nine months of 2023, of 116,079 million dollars.In September 2024, 428 companies with foreign participation were registered (-29.26% compared to the same month in 2023), with a subscribed capital of 161,200 dollars (-98.08%). Depending on the fields of activity, most registrations were registered in wholesale and retail trade, car and motorcycle repair (37.85% of the total), professional, administrative, scientific and technical activities (17.29% of the total) and transport, storage and communications (16.12%).At the end of September 2024, there were 269,386 companies with foreign participation in the share capital in Romania. The value of the subscribed capital was over 71.526 billion dollars.The largest number of companies with foreign participation was with investors from Italy, respectively 53,411 (subscribed capital of 3.644 billion dollars), but the highest value of social capital belongs to Dutch companies, respectively 13.114 billion dollars, in 6,186 companies.
