Schneider Electric Romania integrates AI to increase operational and energy efficiency

December 23, 2024

Schneider Electric Romania announces it is integrating artificial intelligence into its business processes for more agile and efficient operations. Thus, at the service level, Schneider Electric Romania is harnessing the power of artificial intelligence to assess customers’ energy efficiency and shape decarbonisation strategies.   Another very important area where artificial intelligence is making its mark on energy efficiency is predictive maintenance of energy networks and installations. Sensor systems installed by Schneider Electric specialists in commercial or industrial buildings communicate directly with Schneider Electric’s centre in Novisad, Serbia, transmitting information on the status of electrical installations and allowing any potential operational problems to be identified before they occur.   “As a global organisation, we integrate an enormous amount of knowledge and data on sustainability,” explains Lucian Enaru, Country General Manager for Romania, Armenia and Republic of Moldova. “With artificial intelligence we can analyse this data and create benchmarks against which companies can assess their carbon footprint more easily and quickly. These types of analyses are detailed, accurate and objective, making decision-making much easier and allowing us to propose relevant, pragmatic and effective decarbonisation plans to clients.”   The analytics and automation solutions developed in the Novisad hub, backed by the local expertise of specialists in Romania, enable customers to reduce downtime in their operations and streamline their facilities and production workflows.   In addition, software solutions such as Ecostruxure Microgrid Advisor connect to a consumer’s distributed energy resources, helping them to optimise their operation and consumption and consequently reduce their electricity costs. Supported by machine learning algorithms, Schneider Electric’s solutions constantly analyse data from power generators, electric charging stations, batteries, generators, UPSs, HVAC & lighting systems and propose ways to optimise consumption.   “Given our policy of nurturing our in-house specialists and leveraging local expertise, we are happy to provide our colleagues with robust AI-based tools to make their work easier and more efficient and help them to have the greatest positive impact on their clients’ business,” adds Lucian Enaru.   The company has its own AI-powered application, based on Chat GPT for streamlining minor and repetitive work tasks, but also for complex data analysis processes, generating visualisations or searching for data and information in company resources.   Another example is the EcoStruxure Resource Advisor platform, the single source for energy, sustainability and carbon footprint data. EcoStruxure™ Resource Advisor is an energy management solution. This platform enables companies to collect, analyse and automate information that matters for sustainability goals. Resource Advisor centralises that data in one place so that AI and human expertise can make use of those figures.   “In addition to generative AI solutions, we continue to use machine learning and deep learning processes, which help us, for example, in Smart Energy Management Systems (SEMS), efficient energy management systems that support the energy sustainability of buildings in the context of the global decarbonisation trend”, adds Lucian Enaru.     About Schneider Electric Schneider Electric aims to make an impact by enabling people and organisations to make the most of energy and resources, bridging progress and sustainability.A global leader in industrial technology, Schneider Electric is a company with more than 150,000 employees and over one million partners operating in more than 100 countries.
