Austrian ambassador in Bucharest Ulla Krauss-Nussbaumer met on Wednesday with Brasov County Prefect Catalin Vasii and Brasov city mayor George Scripcaru, with whom she assessed possibilities of cooperation, especially in the IT&C field, but also on Brasov County infrastructure projects, the said local authorities announced.On a personal note, the diplomat, who was back to Brasov after 12 years as ambassador, remarked that it is "a jewel of a city".The discussions were aimed at stepping up collaborative relations between Brasov and the Austrian cities of Linz and Salzburg, focusing also on the potential support from Austrian companies for large infrastructure projects aimed at rendering the metropolitan area more accessible, the Brasov Mayor's Office said.According to mayor George Scripcaru, Austria is an important partner of Romania, not only of Brasov, and this partnership needs to be furthered and expanded."I am glad that Mrs. Ambassador has visited us and that we have decided together (...) to develop partnerships in the economic, educational, cultural, social and sports fields, and also to identify new investment opportunities in Brasov for Austrian companies, or to capitalize on the experience and perspective of certain Austrian companies in terms of investment projects, especially in infrastructure, on the accessibility and mobility components I, as mayor, intend to develop in Brasov and in the metropolitan area - parking lots, underground and above-ground passages. We have also established that, in the future, we will facilitate certain events intended especially for the youth, which we will support and develop here, in the municipality and in Brasov County," mayor George Scripcaru declared after the meeting with the Austrian ambassador.
