MApN: Approximately 15,000 military will take part in international exercises in the first half of the year

Approximately 15,000 Romanian and allied military will take part, in the first half of the year in the multinational training events planned to happen in military training ranges and faciliites in our country as part of the Dacia 25 and Dacian Spring 25 exercises, the ministry of national defence reported on Wednesday.   Dacian Spring Exercise 25 (DASP 25) planned and led by the South East Multinational Division between May 5 and 26 represents a premiere in the deployment on Romanian territory by France,  the framework nation of the NATO Battle group in Cincu, of a brigade -level multinational structure, approximately 4,000 French soldiers with combat equipment. Exercise Dacia 25 represents the major training event at the operational and tactical level, which provides the necessary framework for the integration of national and allied forces by connecting with other multinational exercises  planned by the Supreme Allied Command Europe - SHAPE and the US Armed Forces Command in Europe - USEUCOM.   The exercises connected within Dacia 25 are: Steadfast Dart 25- planned by SHAPE to take place in February, Sea Shield 25 - planned and led by the Naval Forces General Staff and Valiant Strike 25 - planned and led by the Special Operations Forces Command, both to take place in April - May and Saber Guardian 25 - planned by USEUCOM in collaboration with the General Staff, for June.   The first major training exercise in this series Steadfast Dart (STDT 25) planned by SHAPE and led by the Joint Force Command Naples - JFCNP will begin in February 10 and the operational phases will run until February 21.The STDT 25 scenario will focus on the execution of specific peacetime alerting, deployment and integration activities of forces, with the aim of testing the reaction and response capacity in crisis situations.   'The Romanian Army together with allied and partner forces organise this series of military integrated exercises, meant to consolidate cooperation within the NATO and in the Strategic  Romanian-American Partnership. These exercises demonstrate the unity and solidarity of the allied, as well as the capacity of the NATO structures and the American strategic partnership to intervene rapidly in support of Romania. The main purpose is to increase the capacity for defence and deterrence, to improve coordination and reaction time, as well as to consolidate the military  interoperability and mobility. In a global complex context, with crises of security, these trainings become essential for the preparation of the armed forces' said MApN.   The exercises represent the opportunity to test the capacity to support defensive operations within the alliance and to ensure the necessary support for the troops and the equipment  which transit or stay on national territory. These military activities are a clear example of the joint commitment for collective security and the stability of the region, said the MApN.   The planned training activities will include tactical movements and exercises with and without live fire, parachuting, river crossings , encrypted communications, coordination of transit through air, naval and land border crosing points as well as medical-specific activities.   The training sequences will take place in seven training areas in the northwest, center, south and southeast part of the country.
