ForMin Hurezeanu refers, in Lithuania, to violation of Romania's airspace following Russian attacks at border with Ukraine

   The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emil Hurezeanu, participated, on Thursday and Friday, in the informal Snow Meeting, held in Lithuania, on which occasion he referred to the latest violations of the national airspace after the attacks of the Russian Federation on the Ukrainian river infrastructure near the border, as a result of which the Romanian specialists found remains of drones in the Danube Delta.In his interventions, the minister emphasized the need to maintain the international order based on rules, including through European, transatlantic actions and together with global partners, the Foreign Ministry (MAE) informed.He presented Romania's vision regarding the major topics on the NATO agenda, including in the perspective of the NATO Summit in The Hague, the quoted source stated.Hurezeanu referred to the security threats at the Black Sea, emphasizing the importance of strengthening the allied deterrence and defense position on the Eastern Flank.The minister of foreign affairs reiterated the imperative of continuing the support offered to Ukraine and spoke about the constant and multi-level assistance offered to Ukraine since the beginning of Russia's aggression against the neighboring state, the MAE informs. He also pointed out the need to support other vulnerable states, with an emphasis on the Republic of Moldova.On the sidelines of the Snow Meeting, which took place in Trakai and Vilnius, Minister Hurezeanu had meetings with his counterparts from Poland, Radoslaw Sikorski, and Estonia, Margus Tsahkna.During the meeting with Sikorski, Hurezeanu expressed support for the priorities of the Polish Presidency of the EU Council, highlighting the importance of unity and the generation of solutions especially for increasing resilience against hybrid threats. The two officials emphasized the importance of strengthening NATO's Eastern Flank and the continuation of support for Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs informed.With the Estonian counterpart, Emil Hurezeanu, there was an exchange of opinions on materializing bilateral cooperation, with emphasis on the opportunities to intensify economic and sectoral relations. The dialogue on current topics on the European and security agenda highlighted the similarity of approaches, starting from the common concern of both states for the advancement of the European project, the consolidation of NATO's Eastern Flank and the continuation of support for Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova, the MAE mentioned.The Snow Meeting event, dedicated to foreign policy and security issues, is organized annually by the Lithuanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and brings together heads of diplomacy from EU and NATO member states, as well as senior officials and representatives of the academic milieu from Europe and the USA.
