Maia Sandu agreed with Bolojan 'to carry forward projects aimed at strengthening our ties'

The president of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu, said on Wednesday, in a telephone discussion which she had with the interim president of Romania, Ilie Bolojan, that they agreed to carry forward the projects aimed at strengthening the ties between the two countries.‘Today I had a phone conversation with the interim President of Romania, Mr.Ilie Bolojan, to whom I wished much success and hard work. During the discussion we agreed to carry forward the projects aimed at strengthening our ties for the benefit of the people on both sides of the Prut’ Maia Sandu wrote on her Facebook account.   ‘ At the same time, we reiterated the gratitude of the citizens of the Republic of Moldova for the plenary and unconditioned support we received from Bucarest, especially over the last years which were full of multiple difficulties and we reiterated the fact that Romania will remain our soul mate’ ,added the president of the Republic of Moldova.Previously, the presidency in Kishinev reported that Maia Sandu had sent a message of thanks to Romanian President Klaus Iohannis for the support given to the Republic of Moldova by Romania during his term of office at the Cotroceni. În turn,  the acting President Ilie Bolojan stated that Romania and the Republic of Moldova are linked by a special relationship, based on a common history, European values and development projects, and stressed the continuation of the collaboration between the two countries."We will continue to work closely for the good of the citizens on both banks of the Prut. Moldova is not alone. We are together, in the same fight for a better future!", concluded the acting president.Ilie Bolojan took over the mandate of acting president of Romania on Wednesday.
