Romania's economy grew 0.9% last year, and in the last quarter of 2024 the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) increased 0.7% compared to the same quarter in 2023, and 0.8% compared to the previous quarter, according to estimated data (flash) the National Institute of Statistics (INS) published on Friday.On a seasonally adjusted series, in Q4 2024, compared to the previous quarter, GDP was 0.8% higher. Compared to the same quarter in 2023, GDP registered a 0.7% increase.On an unadjusted series, compared to the same quarter in 2023, GDP in Q4 2024 recorded a 0.7% increase. In 2024, compared to 2023, the Gross Domestic Product increased 0.9%."As a result of revising the unadjusted quarterly GDP series by including the estimation of GDP for Q4 2024 in the quarterly series, the seasonally adjusted series was recalculated, with volume indices being revised compared to the second provisional estimate of GDP for Q3 2024, published in press release no. 7 on January 10, 2025, as follows: Q1 2024 results, compared to Q4 2023, were revised from 99.6% to 99.7%; Q3 2024 results, compared to Q2 2024, were revised from 100.0% to 100.1%. Seasonally adjusted series are recalculated quarterly in accordance with European practices," the quoted source mentioned.
