AtlasIntel Poll: Calin Georgescu Nears 40% in Presidential Race

March 24, 2025

If the presidential elections were held next Sunday, independent candidate Calin Georgescu would get 38.4%, followed by Nicusor Dan with 25.4% and Crin Antonescu with 15.8%, according to a poll conducted by AtlasIntel at the behest of Nicusor Dan, who published it on his personal Facebook page on Tuesday.   The poll was conducted on 2,947 respondents through random digital recruitment between February 21 and February 24. It has a confidence level of 95% and a margin of error of 2%. Calin Georgescu is increasing compared to a poll conducted by CURS at the end of January. At that time, he was rated at 37%. Nicusor Dan is also increasing, from 21% to 25.4%, while Antonescu is decreasing from 18% to 15.8%.   Unlike the CURS poll, Victor Ponta is also measured (7.5%). He has not officially announced that he will run, but said that signatures are being collected for a candidacy with his consent. In contrast, Diana Sosoaca was not included in the AtlasIntel poll. In the CURS poll, she was rated at 7%. Elena Lasconi, who at the end of last year reached the second round with Calin Georgescu, would be voted for by only 5.8% of respondents. George Simion, who has repeatedly stated that he will not run in the presidential elections where he supports Calin Georgescu, is also included in this poll.   Nicusor Dan is the favorite if the presidential elections were held next Sunday. According to the AtlasIntel poll, 45% would vote for the current mayor general, while 40.9% would vote for Calin Georgescu. In contrast, 14.1% of respondents said they did not know or would cancel their vote.
