US defense industry association meets with government representatives and relevant Romanian companies

A delegation from the US State of Utah, made up of representatives of the aerospace, defense and cybersecurity industry, paid a strategic visit to Romania, between March 3 and March 7, aimed at strengthening the economic and strategic partnership between the two countries, investment opportunities and project development in the field of advanced defence and cybersecurity technologies, informs a press release sent on Monday.The event was organized by 47G - Utah Defense Contractors Association and the Romanian company Black Sea Strategies, with the support of the Commercial Office of the U.S. Embassy and Repatriot - Romanian Business Leaders."47G is one of the strongest defense and aerospace industry associations in the U.S., bringing together more than 250 companies with a combined value in the hundreds of billions of dollars. These leading-edge companies are involved in the development of advanced technologies that have a significant impact on security and the global economy. The State of Utah is of major strategic importance to the US as a center of excellence in aerospace and defense, with close ties to the Pentagon and US national security agencies," reads the cited source.Among the participants were Aaron Starks, CEO & President of 47G, Romanian Government officials, representatives of the Ministry of National Defense, Ministry of Internal Affairs, ROMARM, National Cyber Security Directorate, as well as leaders of some of the top U.S. companies in the industry.The delegation participated in a series of high-level meetings, including strategic discussions at the Chancellery of the Prime Minister, the Ministry of National Defense and the Ministry of Economy. There were also B2B sessions with over 30 Romanian companies and then visits to Aerostar Bacau, BlueSpace Technology and General Dynamics Land Systems - Europe, highlighting the interest of American companies in collaborating with the Romanian industry."This mission takes place at an essential moment for Romania, when we are strengthening our defense capabilities and strategic position in the Black Sea region. The collaboration with Utah leaders gives us access to advanced technologies and essential know-how for the development of the national defense industry," Catalin Mihalache, CEO of Black Sea Strategies was quoted as saying in the release.Repatriot has supported this initiative, acting as a strategic anchor for Romania in attracting U.S. investment and developing innovative projects. "Several years ago we opened an important bridge in Utah through Repatriot's economic mission. Now we are happy to have here a group of Americans, friends of Romania, with whom to do business and share the same values. Romania will be a technological and industrial hub in South-Eastern Europe for its strategic partners, and this delegation demonstrates our shared commitment to regional development and security," emphasized Marius Bostan, member of Romanian Business Leaders and initiator of the RePatriot project.An important moment of the visit was the meeting of the 47G delegation with Dragos Pavel, co-founder of Dedeman and investor in several fields. Discussions centered on the potential of investments in strategic areas and the development of long-term technological partnerships.The delegation also made an important visit to INCAS - National Institute for Aerospace Research "Elie Carafoli" followed by other meetings with private sector leaders, affirming Romania's role as a strategic partner of the US in the technology and defense fields.
