CCIR: We continue our efforts to identify development opportunities in the Venezuelan market

April 16, 2025

Romanian entrepreneurs can have opportunities for business development in Venezuela, Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania (CCIR) Mihai Daraban said during a discussion with Jose de Jesus Sojo Reyes, charge d'affaires of the Embassy of Bolivia in Romania.According to a CCIR press statement released on Wednesday, the meeting between the two officials aimed to develop a dialogue with the Venezuelan Embassy in Romania in order to identify economic areas in which the two countries can carry out joint projects."This meeting lays the foundations for collaboration between the two organisations in the economic field, given both Venezuela's new policy of attracting investments in areas such as infrastructure or the oil industry, as well as the new legislative framework of the country that provides tax incentives for foreign investors for long-term economic development. At CCIR level, we continue our efforts to internationalise Romanian business by facilitating access of entrepreneurs to non-EU markets; from this point of view, Venezuela can be taken into account for the development of sustainable businesses," Daraban is quoted as saying in the statement. For his part, Jose de Jesus Sojo Reyes said that there are real investment opportunities in Venezuela, especially in the energy, infrastructure and agriculture sectors."Despite the geographical distance, there are multiple areas of common interest between the two nations where we can build solid and lasting partnerships. Venezuela has considerable natural resources, including one of the largest oil reserves in the world, while Romania offers its expertise in areas such as technology, agriculture and manufacturing. There are real investment opportunities in Venezuela, especially in the energy, infrastructure and agriculture sectors. Amidst the current global changes, diversifying business partnerships becomes essential, and our bilateral relationship can be strengthened through direct trade, thus contributing to the prosperity of both states," the diplomat said.  (Photo:https://ccir.ro/)
