Romania records over EUR 968 million in 2004 trade surplus with U.S.

Romania's exports to the U.S. in 2024 exceeded EUR 2.283 billion, as the country's U.S. imports stood at EUR 1.315 billion, which gave a trade surplus of EUR 968 million favouring Romania, according to data with Romania's National Institute of Statistics..High values of Romanian exports to the U.S. were recorded in following products: semi-finished products of iron or non-alloy steels - EUR 217.865 million; boards, panels, consoles, desks, cabinets, etc. - EUR 169.915 million; radar apparatus - EUR 104.171 million; seamless tubes, pipes and hollow profiles - EUR 77.139 million; ball bearings, roller bearings or needle bearings - EUR 75.978 million; electric motors and generators - EUR 72.758 million; ropes, cables and cordage - EUR 50.038 million; other alloy steel in ingots or other primary forms - EUR 47.37 million; pumps for liquids, whether or not fitted with a measuring device - EUR 42.847 million.As far as the U.S. imports are concerned, important values were recorded for: military weapons, other than revolvers, pistols - EUR103.687 million; bombs, grenades, torpedoes, mines, missiles, cartridges - EUR 29.969 million; parts and accessories for military weapons, revolvers and pistols, other firearms and devices using explosive charges, other weapons - EUR 14.909 million; other aircraft (helicopters, airplanes) - EUR 95.984 million; transmission apparatus for radio-broadcasting or television - EUR 68.398 million; petroleum oils/bituminous minerals - EUR 68.570 million; turbojets, turbopropellers and other gas turbines - EUR 58.901 million; flat-rolled products of stainless steels - about EUR 31 million; petroleum gases and other gaseous hydrocarbons - EUR 25.757 million.U.S. President Donald Trump announced on Wednesday that he will levy 20% tariffs on imports from the European Union (EU) as part of his trade war with countries around the world, according to the Spanish news agency EFE."You think of European Union [as] very friendly: they rip us off.
