Romania is not in a situation that justifies resorting to the International Monetary Fund (IMF), and there are no signs of an imminent governmental crisis, the Presidential Administration said on Wednesday."The spread of alarmist news, based on anonymous sources, without a minimum verification, not only misinforms the public opinion, but can generate unnecessary panic, affecting the climate of economic stability and citizens' trust in state institutions. We invite the media representatives to responsibility and balance, especially now that Romania needs coherence, predictability and trust."In a statement sent to the press, the Presidential Administration added that it "remains open to dialogue, with respect for the freedom of the press, but strongly condemns the promotion of unverified information, which can directly affect the public interest."
