Presidential2025/ The last week of the electoral campaign begins

The last week of electoral campaign started on Monday, at its end,on 4th May the Romanians would be called to vote and elect the future president of the country.The first round of the presidential election is scheduled for 4 May and the second round on 18 May.   The presidential election campaign started on 4 April at 00:00 and ends on Saturday morning at 7:00.   In the event of a second round of voting, the campaign will start from the date of validation of the results of the first round by the Constitutional Court and will end on 17 May at 07:00. On Friday 2 May, at 7:00 local time, the first day of voting in the diaspora begins. Romanians abroad can vote for their next president for three days: * Friday 2 May, from 7:00 (local time) - 21:00 (local time) * Saturday 3 May from 7am - 9pm (local time) * Sunday, 4 May - polls open at 07:00 (local time) and close at 21:00 (local time or Romanian local time, as applicable); on Sunday, voting closes at 21:00 local time, but no later than 21:00 Romanian local time; on Sunday, voting closes at 21:00 local time, but no later than 21:00 Romanian local time. According to the Central Electoral Bureau, the order of the 11 candidates on the ballot paper is as follows:   * position 1 - George Nicolae Simion (Alliance for the Union of Romanians) * position 2 - George Crin Lauren?iu Antonescu (Romania Forward Electoral Alliance)   * position 3 - Elena Valerica Lasconi (Union Save Romania)   * position 4 - Cristian Vasile Terhes (Romanian National Conservative Party)   * position 5 - Marcela Lavinia sandru (Humanist Social Liberal Party)   * position 6 - Victor Viorel Ponta (independent candidate)   * position 7 - Sebastian Constantin Popescu (New Romania Party)   * position 8 - Silviu Predoiu (National Action League Party)   * position 9 - John-Ion Banu-Muscel (independent candidate)   * position 10 - Petru Daniel Funeriu (independent candidate)   * position 11 - Nicusor-Daniel Dan (independent candidate).   Five candidates - Elena Lasconi, George Simion, Cristian Terhes, Silviu Predoiu and Sebastian-Constantin Popescu - were also in the running in last year's presidential elections, with the USR leader managing to reach the second round with the independent Calin Georgescu, but the elections were cancelled by the Constitutional Court.
