May 27, 2025

TUI Poland travel agency, part of the German group bearing the same name, the biggest travel group in the world, will come to Romania, either by opening a branch or by purchasing a player in the local market, sources informed Profit.ro. TUI Poland has been testing the local market for some time, according to Profit.ro, and was interested in taking over the agency network TUI Travel Center Romania, which was sold to Christian Tour last year.   Industry sources show that TUI Poland is in due dillingence with Paralela 45 agency. Contacted by Profit.ro, Alin Burcea, the owner of Paralela 45 says that “at present there is no serious sales negotiation for Paralela 45.” “There have been talks for several years, but there was nothing serious,” Burcea added. Contacted by Profit.ro, TUI representatives have not made any statements. In December, Profit.ro announced that market players said that Alin Burcea, the founder of Paralela 45 travel agency , among the biggest according to the business figure, had concluded financial negotiations for selling the company for 16 million euros. Burces denied then, when contacted by Profit.ro, that such a deal had been reached. TUI Group is a world leader in the travel industry. It now has 1,200 international agencies, a fleet of 130 airplanes, over 400 hotels and 18 cruise lines.   The group includes 5 air companies – TUI Airways, TUI Fly, TUI Fly Belgium, TUI Fly Netherlands and TUI Fly Nordic. TUI is listed at Frankfurt and Hanover stock exchange, included in FTSE 250 index. Set up three decades ago, Paralela 45 is one of the most longlasting travel agencies in the local market, one of the biggest according to the business figure, of 50.6 million lei in 2023, on the rise by 15% against the previous year.
