Unemployment rate in Bucharest, 0.63 pct in March 2025

A total of 7,924 unemployed people, including 4,531 women, were in the records of the Municipal Agency for Employment Bucharest (AMOFM) at the end of March, with an unemployment rate of 0.63%, informs a press release sent on Tuesday.Compared to the previous month, when the unemployment rate was 0.64%, the indicator decreased by 1.56% this March.Out of a total of 7,924 people registered in the records of AMOFM Bucharest, 1,531 were recipients of unemployment benefits and 6,393 were unemployed without benefits.Most unemployed were in the age groups 30-39 (2,063 persons) and 40-49 (1,865 persons).The unemployed with high school education had the highest share in the total number of unemployed registered in the AMOFM Bucharest (37.23%), followed by those with higher education (26.86%) and 17.88% who graduated from vocational school/arts and crafts. Workers with secondary education accounted for 15.31% of all registered unemployed, those with post-secondary education 2.13%, and those with primary education and no education 0.59%.The structure of registered unemployed persons by level of employability, established by profiling, is as follows: 1,271 persons very hard to employ, 2,452 hard to employ, 2,388 moderately difficult to employ, and 1,813 were easily employable.
