Bucharest Opera Festival – 15 – 24 June

  The fourth edition of Bucharest Opera Festival, which will alternate opera, ballet, musical, musical-rock opera and opera in concert presented by several companies among which two from abroad – The National Theatre for Ballet and Opera ‘Maria Biesu” from Kishinev and Opera from Ruse will take place in 15 to 24 June.The National Opera in Bucharest will be joined on the festival programme by the Romanian National Opera in Iasi, the Romanian National Opera in Timisoara, the Hungarian Opera in Cluj-Napoca, the Opera in Brasov, the 'Nae Leonard' Opera and Ballet Theatre in Galati and the Radio Chamber Orchestra.   More than 1,500 musicians, dancers, artistic and technical staff will be present on stage, in the pit and backstage at the Bucharest Opera Festival 2025, as in previous years, the event will contribute to making Bucharest a privileged destination for cultural tourism.   The festival programme includes:   * Sunday, 15 June, 19:00 - 'Faust' by Charles Gound, directed by Alexandru Toscilescu, conductor Tiberiu Soare (Bucharest National Opera)* Monday 16 June, 19:00 - 'Rita' by Gaetano Donizetti, opera in concert (Radio Chamber Orchestra) * Tuesday, 17 June, at 20:00 - 'Jesus Christ Superstar', by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice, rock opera directed and choreographed by Novak Peter Novak, conductor Kulcsar Szabolcs (Hungarian Opera in Cluj-Napoca) * Wednesday, 18 June, 19:00 - 'Cinderella' by Sergei Prokofiev, ballet directed and choreographed by Renato Zanella, conductor Daniel Jinga (Bucharest National Opera) * Thursday, 19 June - 'Carmen by George Bizet', ballet directed and choreographed by Natalia Osipova (Ruse Opera)* Friday, 20 June, 19:00 - 'Turandot' by Giacomo Puccini, directed by Rares Zaharia, conductor David Crescenzi (Romanian National Opera Iasi) * Saturday, 21 June, 19:00 - 'Nabucco' by Giuseppe Verdi, opera directed by Andei T?b?caru, conductor David Crescenzi (Opera of Brasov) * Sunday, 22 June, 19:00 - 'Lucia di Lammermoor' by Gaetano Donizetti, opera directed by Paolo Bosisio, conductor Victor Gheorghe Dum?nescu (National Opera and Operetta Theatre 'Nae Leonard' in Galati)   * Monday, 23 June, 19:00 - 'Spartacus' by Aram Haciaturian, ballet (National Opera and Ballet Theatre 'Maria Biesu' in Chisinau)   * Tuesday, 24 June, 19:00 - 'The Merry Widow' by Franz Lehar, operetta directed and costumed by R?zvan Mazilu, conductor Mihnea Ignat (Romanian National Opera in Timisoara).
