Disinformation about so-called preparations for mobilisation of military reservists reported by MApN

June 3, 2025

The Ministry of National Defence (MApN) reports new pieces of disinformation about the so-called preparations for the mobilisation of military reservists, following a post on X, where an internal Metrorex document is presented as proof that the mobilisation of reservists to go to Ukraine is desired.'We would like to draw your attention to a post made on the digital platform X on 21 May 2025, whereby an internal document of Metrorex S.A. is presented as "proof" of the preparations that the Romanian authorities are secretly making to mobilise reservists to be sent to Ukraine,' a press release by the Internal Affairs Ministry (MAI) sent on Thursday.According to the cited source, the disinformation comes in the context in which MApN recently communicated information about the organisation, between 26-31 May, of the training exercise for the evaluation of the mobilisation reserve in MOBEX OT-GR-TR-25, in the counties of Olt, Giurgiu and Teleorman.'In the press release we warn about the possibility of spreading false information on this subject,' the cited source shows.According to MApN, the administrative document used in this disinformation is issued by a Metrorex SA structure, for the implementation of legal procedures regarding the registration of employees with military obligations.'These procedures are routine, take place annually and have nothing to do with the security context generated by the invasion of the Russian Federation in Ukraine,' MApN said.
