Survey:Three in four Romanian entrepreneurs believe in chance as factor of business success

June 26, 2025

Three in four Romanian entrepreneurs (76%) believe in chance as a factor of business success, although more than half of them assess the business environment as difficult, according to the findings of a survey published on Thursday.According to Query Research for Raiffeisen Bank Romania, Romanian entrepreneurs believe that adaptability and flexibility, along with a clear vision and a well-defined mission, are essential to succeed in business. In addition to qualities such as perseverance and courage, chance is considered by many to be an important factor. Also, 62% of respondents assess the business environment as difficult, but, nevertheless, 61% remain optimistic that the company they run will have a significant financial development in the next two-three years.Entrepreneurs estimate that the IT, agriculture, production and services will have the highest growth in the coming years, and the factors that could boost the development of these businesses are economic and political stability, the availability of skilled labour and access to funding. The majority of respondents believe that digitalisation and/or automation of processes and operations is important for the development of their businesses, while more than half of those surveyed (54%) intend to invest more in technology in the next two-three years. The survey was conducted on a sample of 150 entrepreneurs from companies with a turnover between EUR 1 million and EUR 50 million.Building on the findings of the survey, Raiffeisen is launching a regional conference series "Be Inspired. Make it Happen!" in Timisoara, Craiova, Iasi and Constanta, which will be moderated by Andreea Esca."This series of conferences is dedicated to entrepreneurs and business leaders who run businesses with a history in the market, who perform in their fields and who want to be more competitive and, why not, to scale internationally. Beyond these events, we want to support Romanian businesses to become more competitive locally and regionally," Cristian Sporis, vice-president of the Corporate Division and member of the Board of Directors of Raiffeisen Bank Romania, is quoted as saying in a press release. The bank has designed this series of events to provide relevant information about the current economic context and about concrete market positioning and growth strategies.Raiffeisen Bank, a universal bank, with solid capitalisation and liquidity, operates on the Romanian banking market and serves approximately 2.3 million customers, individuals and legal entities.
