28,866 companies deregistered nationwide in first four months

   A total of 28,866 companies were deregistered nationwide in the first four months of 2025, 11.52% fewer compared to the same period in 2024, according to statistics from the National Trade Register Office (ONRC).The highest number of deregistrations was recorded in Bucharest, namely 4,903 (a decrease of 0.47% compared to the first four months of 2024), followed by the counties of Cluj (1,434, -12.56%), Bihor (1,189, +12.49%), Timis (1,140, -13.24%), Iasi (1,136, +1.88%), Ilfov (1,053, -3.66%) and Constanta (1,023, -17.9%).At the opposite end, the fewest deregistrations were recorded in the counties of Ialomita (149, down 33.03% compared to January-April 2024), Calarasi (163, -22.38%), Mehedinti (222, -25.25%), Caras-Severin (228, -26.45%), Teleorman (227, -16.85%) and Covasna (236, -5.6%).Significant increases in the number of deregistrations were observed in the counties of Olt (+12.77%), Bihor (+12.49%) and Vrancea (+12.1%), while the most substantial decreases were recorded in Dambovita (-49.41%), Ialomita (-33.03%) and Dolj (-28.3%).By field of activity, the highest number of deregistrations was in wholesale and retail trade, repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles (6,753, down 10.44% compared to the first four months of 2024), agriculture, forestry, and fishing (3,306, -13.52%) and transport and storage (2,620, -7.03%).In April 2025 alone, there were 7,860 company deregistrations, most of them in Bucharest (1,423) and in the counties of Cluj (381), Constan?a (379), Bihor (313) and Ilfov (315).
