Net investments made in the national economy totaled 37.48 billion lei in the first quarter of this year, up 4.3% compared to the first quarter of 2024, according to data published Thursday by the National Institute of Statistics (INS).In the first three months, new construction works increased 10.3%, attracting investment worth 21.64 billion lei. Investments in equipment (including means of transport) rose 2.8%, reaching 9.89 billion lei. On the other hand, other investment expenditures fell 11.3%, to 5.95 billion lei.According to INS, net investments represent expenditures intended for the creation of new fixed assets, the development, modernization, and reconstruction of existing ones, as well as the value of services related to the transfer of ownership of existing fixed assets and land purchased from other units or individuals (such as notary fees, commissions, transportation, handling expenses, etc.).
