Most of the government program is ready, but we cannot move forward with either the fiscal measures or the government program until we have a candidate for prime minister, the president of the UDMR, Kelemen Hunor said on Monday. He was asked what is the status of the discussions between the PSD, PNL, UDMR and USR on the formation of the new government."So far, there has been a lot of discussion about the fiscal program, everything that fiscal reform means, and the measures that must be taken immediately after the new government is sworn in. We have also discussed politically what we should do, how this coalition should function, but we have not managed to overcome that phase of who the coalition's proposal will be for the position of prime minister, because you must have a proposal when the president invites you to Cotroceni for consultations. If you say that you have no proposal, it means that in fact there is no one who wants at this moment to be prime minister with all the responsibility, with all the assumption for what this position means today. And so far we have not managed to have a proposal for President Nicusor Dan. That is why we are in the situation of not having a nomination. This It must be said. There were discussions with a rotating, without a rotating, with a technocrat, without a technocrat. Who should start if it is rotating, who should be second? So in this regard, all political possibilities have truly been exhausted. I believe that in a few days this week we will have a nomination and then, at the end of the week or rather the beginning of next week, we can go to Parliament", Kelemen Hunor told Digi 24 TV on Monday evening. He specified that following the discussions held so far "a large part of the government program is ready"."If you look at all the other chapters, there are still a few nuances that need to be discussed politically, but our colleagues, a week ago... last Monday, gave us the version of the government program. It remains on the fiscal measures, because that is where the most serious problems are and they will take us in the coming years, of course, into a rather difficult area. (...) We cannot move forward with either the fiscal measures or the government program until we have a candidate for the position of prime minister. But I believe that today, tomorrow, the day after tomorrow, a solution will emerge," said Kelemen Hunor. He emphasized that the designated prime minister should be a politician and not a technocrat."Politically, yes. If you put a technocrat, the message is that politicians did not assume, that they did not have the courage, that they ran away from responsibility, which is an absolutely inappropriate message until the end, because when you went on the campaign, you said that you wanted to govern, that's why you asked for the people's vote, you did not ask for the people's vote to run away from governing", argued Kelemen Hunor.
