Cars: Chery kicks off:  The first cars have been sent to Romania

July 15, 2025

On 4th June 2024, Chery Automobile organised the first official shipment of vehicles to Romania from Wuhu, China, marking a new important milestone in the company's global expansion. This delivery signals not only Chery's official entry into the European market,  but also the positioning of Romania as one of the brand's first strategic markets in the region.   The transportation includes the TIGGO 7 and TIGGO 8 models, available in both internal combustion engine (ICE) and plug-in hybrid (PHEV)versions. These models combine Chery's advanced technology with smart and eco-friendly mobility principles, thus offering European consumers an efficient, reliable and modern driving experience.   The plug-in hybrid version is equipped with Chery Super Hybrid (CSH) technology, which integrates a hybrid engine with a thermal efficiency of up to 46.5%, a DHT stepless electric hybrid transmission system with an efficiency of 98.5%, high-performance batteries and a battery management system with high safety standards.Together they propose a complete sustainable mobility solution, meaning low fuel consumption, high performance and silent operation, perfectly meeting the requirements of the European market and providing, at the same time, clear proof of Chery's commitment to the European market.   As the leader of Chinese auto exports, Chery gets on the European Union market with a clear and confident vision: 'In Europe, for Europe".Romania will serve not only as a strategic access point to the continent, but also as a hub for the development of local service networks. The vehicles are expected to arrive in Romania in the second half of July.   Moreover, on 30 June, Chery will organise its first official event for the launching of its brand, products and CSH technology in Warsaw, Poland by presenting four key-models: TIGGO 7, TIGGO 8 and their hybrid versions, TIGGO 7 CSH and TIGGO 8 CSH marking in this way its official debut on the European market.   Looking ahead, Chery plans to launch 34 new models, creating a diverse and competitive product portfolio to meet the ever-changing demands of global consumers. Starting from its leadership in CSH hybrid technology and continuing with the development of products tailored to the European market, each of Chery's strategic actions reflects its firm commitment to long-term sustainable  growth - not only by selling vehicles, but also by strengthening a lasting presence in Europe as an active partner in the transition to green mobility. ### About Chery Founded in 1997, Chery is one of the most important auto companies in China, with a development strategy relying on technological innovation.
