Sighisoara Medieval Festival - between July 25 and 27

The Sighisoara City Hall announced on Saturday the organisation of the 30th edition of the Sighisoara Medieval Festival, between 25 and 27 July, during which the glory and mystery of the Middle Ages will return to the streets of the city through solemn parades of ladies and knights, exuberant dances, medieval music and folk concerts.   'During July 25 to 27 the 30th edition of the Sighisoara Medieval Festival will take place - an anniversary edition, which brings to the fore the traditions and atmosphere specific to the Middle Ages. The event will include parades with ladies and knights,interactive dances and workshops for all ages. Participants will be able to explore the crafts and customs of a remarkable era, in an authentic setting, in the Sighisoara Citadel.Guest artists such as Vasile Seicaru, Phoenix Band, Adrian Ivanitchi, Vita de Vie, Viatores Festivi and Julia Shevel from Ukraine will take to the stage located in the Citadel Square. The event will be presented by Dan Negru', the Sighisoara City Hall stated in a press release.   Thus, for three days, the Medieval Citadel will reverberate under the ancient drum beats of the Drummer of the Sighisoara Citadel, and a series of knightly orders and medieval bands from the country will revive the era.   'In the Sighisoara Fortress for three days, the medieval atmosphere will be maintained by: the Drummer of the Sighisoara Fortress, the Guards of the Bistrita fortress, the Minstrels of the Suceava Seat Fortress, the Teutons of Transylvania, the Knights of Muhlbach, the Paladins of Terra Medies, the Asserculis Mercenaries,the Asserculis Drummers, the Order of the Golden Griffin, the Traveler in the Middle Ages', the quoted source shows.   On the first day of the event, the conference 'Medieval Sighisoara at the 30th edition' will take palace, a moment dedicated to dialogue about the past and continuity of the festival.   The program includes combat demonstrations, medieval dances and other themed activities.   The festival will end with the traditional and long-awaited fireworks display, the Sighisoara City Hall informed.  (Photo:https://www.facebook.com/medievalinsighisoara/)
