PM Bolojan: Six-month moratorium during which we will suspend the launch of new tender procedures

June 29, 2025

Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan declared on Friday that all tender procedures financed from the state budget will be suspended for the next six months to prioritize projects, and those with European funds will be accelerated."An important aspect related to the prioritization of investments in general, not only on European funds, but on all projects, including those from the national budget, is related to the evaluation and prioritization of investments. This will be done in the coming months and in order to ensure the financing of investments, we agreed today on a six-month moratorium, until the end of the year, in which we will suspend the launch of new tender procedures or the interruption of those that have been started, but have not submitted bids and have not already been awarded in terms of winners, so that we can prioritize our projects during this period, to ensure the financing of those that we can afford, that we can complete in a reasonable time and that have an impact in their communities", Ilie Bolojan told a press conference at the Victoria Palace, at the end of the Government meeting. He specified that this suspension is only for projects that are financed by the Government and are not related to European funds."For all projects won from European funds, the measure is the opposite, that is, they must be expedited, the calls must be finalized, the works, the procedures must be accelerated, so that we can expedite these investments in order to be able to make, as I said, the absorption", said the Prime Minister.
