A new drone attack took place near Romania's border on the night of Tuesday to Wednesday, with two F-16 aircraft of the Romanian Air Force being scrambled to monitor the aerial situation, the Ministry of National Defence reported."The Russian Federation resumed drone attacks on civilian and port infrastructure targets in Ukraine during the night of 1 July, near the Romanian border. The National Military Command Centre (core unit) notified the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations regarding the implementation of population alert measures in Tulcea County, with RO-ALERT messages being sent. Starting at 23:15, two F-16 aircraft from the Romanian Air Force took off from the 86th Air Base in Borcea to monitor the aerial situation," reads a press release from the Ministry of National Defence (MApN) sent on Wednesday.According to the same source, the MApN has informed and continues to inform allied structures in real time about the situations generated by the attacks, maintaining permanent contact with them."The Ministry of National Defence sends a strong message of condemnation regarding these attacks carried out by the Russian Federation against Ukrainian civilian infrastructure and targets, which are unjustified and in serious violation of international law," the MApN release also notes.
